Films: Dragon Soldiers (2020)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Forest

Height/Weight: That of a truck.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: And lo, we come to this year's obligatory cheap CGI dragon flick. We're not complaining of course, we love ourselves some dragons. And this one picked a not too shabby locale to go about its business. A shame it attracted some lousy company.

History: Awakened due to fracking operations in the woodlands of California, this large dragon quickly became a menace to everyone and everything that lived there. Even worse, some loonies kept sacrificing people to it, having been driven to madness by its smoke. A small group of soldiers are investigating, but they haven't the slightest idea what kind of danger they're in for.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After the cultists are killed, the remaining fighters do their best to vanquish the beast. Only one manages to do the deed. Wielding a gun quite literally named Excalibur, he shoots the dragon's throat just as it breathes fire, obliterating its head and sending it crashing into the ground. However, a small clutch of eggs goes unnoticed...

Powers/Abilities: Aside from breathing fire and having a near-impenetrable hide, the dragon can also breathe a toxic gas that sends people into a violent frenzy for a while.

Weakness: Interior damage.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-This imposing dragon has the size advantage, as well as the power to back it up. That insanity gas is also a neat feature we haven't seen before. But alas, the piss-poor CGI ruins a lot of its impact. Just look at how awkwardly it runs on all fours.

Trivia: -Although released in the UK in May 2020, it took more than a month later for this film to get a more international release.

-Looking at ancient legends, there doesn't appear to be any where people were driven to madness by a dragon's power, unless you count the corruption of Siegfried after he slew Fafnir. Turns out being able to communicate with birds can empower major paranoia, though it did more good than bad in the grand scheme of things.

That, and actual power. Not the fake power America has.

Late to Dany's burning, are you?

All this land and nobody to share it with.

These invisible rounds are stating to annoy her.
As well as a REALLY bad dental plan.

"DOWN, GIRL! BAD!"

Again. She has to question the sanity of her prey.

Drogon's new line of work was still more dignified than GoT.

They worship her as a goddess...while she just is wondering what the heck is happening with her prey.

Nothing like a nice scale groooming before the slaughter.
"What bullshit is this?!"

A freaky mouth, but you'd need it wide too for all that pent-up fire.

Sigh...the folly of CGI sometimes...

Still more satisfying than Smaug's death.
